What is Hellerwork?

Hellerwork is a powerful system of body, mind and movement work. It relates physical structure to human function in the context of a healing relationship. The work is based on the guiding principle that by balancing the body's structure and freeing natural movement and expression, the individual's innate wholeness is revealed.

Hellerwork engages the human being through structure, function, emotion and energy. The body is realigned using innovative connective tissue reorganization techniques. Current movement habits are brought to awareness and natural ease emerges. hellerwork provides an opportunity to explore one's relationship with self, with others and with the world.

Balance in Hellerwork is not a static condition, but a process of constant flux; a fluid expression os wholeness and ease. To quote Joseph Heller, founder of Hellerwork: "Hellerwork is not just a mechanical fixing of the structure...from a larger picture, it is about alignment. On a physical plane, emotional plane, it is alignment with universal principles. At the level of the being, it is alignment with our spirit. From the larger picture, physical misalignment is a symptom rather than a cause.

HELLERWORK FOUNDATION PRINCIPLES

We recognize the existence of a greater field in which we live, interact and express. Our purpose is to enhance the individual's awareness of and relationship to that field. Within the context of a healing relationship, we work with structure, psyche and movement to improve function and well being. Our process follows an ordered sequence organizing the body along the line of gravity through guided touch and education, inducing change towards a more functional pattern.
